Recovery Ritual

By Cindy on August 4, 2009

During my coaching session with Tony Scelzo last week, Tony challenged me to document my recovery ritual. Don’t know what I am talking about?

Okay, when you get into the purple haze and everything or everybody seems to be out to get you?  What do you do to exit the haze?  Exactly!  A recovery or exiting the purple haze ritual.

Since the power was out today during our summer storms, I decided to put pen to paper and do some homework.  Here is the list I made.  Sounded good to me, so I thought I would share it with you.

Homework turned into a blog post.  How cool is that?

  • Wake up early
  • Eat well balanced meals…lots of brain food like blueberries.  Ummmm, blueberries!
  • Keep busy with strategic work
  • Get out of my office and mingle with positive people…attend Rainmaker events
  • Read inspiring books, blogs, iLearning videos and tapes
  • Write goals daily
  • Read my Empowering Beliefs daily
  • When something unexpected happens, ask, “How can I make this the best thing that has ever happened?”
  • Blog out emotions, feelings, misgivings, doubts, anger
  • Rough house with Zoe and Scout, my dogsters and best pals
  • Keep an attitude of gratitude
  • Post to my Gratitude Journal
  • Work smart and hard to make a gigantic sale!
  • Think how proud Daddy would be of me for being ubber successful
  • Eat the frog first each morning so the rest of the day I can kiss princes the rest of the day

Have you gotten into a haze lately?  Hearing too much bad news and need to find your own recovery ritual?  Think about what you do to exit the haze.  What is your recovery ritual?

Once you realize what you do to jazz yourself, let me know!  Always looking for more great things to try and pass along.
